Healing for Heart, Mind, and Body
Week 1 CONNECTION
On earth we live in a state of separation or disconnection from our Heavenly Father. We will not be whole until we are again reunited with our Heavenly Parents. The mission of Jesus Christ was to heal us and make us whole again. The New Testament stories of Jesus healing physical maladies are also symbolic of spiritual healing. One example is found in Mark 5:37-42 where Jesus physically raised the damsel from the dead. Spiritually he healed the family by taking the father, mother, and daughter and sealing them together to make them whole.
Week 2 CREATING ENERGY
Energy isn’t something we “have” or “don’t have.” We can create the energy we need. Things that drain our energy include: Toxic thoughts/emotions, physical deficiencies, words, and clutter. Addressing your physical needs establishes the foundation which allows you to change your thoughts and emotions and feel the love of God every day.
Week 3 BODY: TOOL OF CREATION
My body is beautiful for what it can do.
My eyes reflect the beauty of the world around me.
My arms are open to giving and receiving love. My hands are capable and skilled.
My heart is courageous and loving.
My feet are always moving me forward towards my goals.
My body belongs to me.
I love and respect myself, exactly as I am.
Week 4 THOUGHTS: SEEDS OF CREATION
Chris McCandless left college to live in the Alaskan Wilderness and wanted to survive living off the land. He found plenty of roots, seeds, and berries to survive, but one berry he consumed was actually toxic. That berry prevented his stomach from being able to absorb the nutrients from all the other food he was eating and he ended up starving to death even though he was eating enough calories. We can spend hours reading the scriptures, going to the temple, praying, serving, attending church meetings, but toxic thoughts can prevent our spirit from being able to absorb the nutrition and we can die of spiritual starvation even when we are trying to do everything right.
